美國已故總統雷根的夫人南西（Nancy Reagan）6日在洛杉磯自宅因心臟衰竭辭世，享壽94歲。她生前是雷根信賴的幕僚與戰友，是悉心照顧雷根的守護者，但她高調奢華的作風、強勢插手白宮人事、加上著迷於占星術等，也讓她成為最受爭議的第一夫人之一。
高調奢華 信占星術
南西辭世，美國與世界政壇各界人士紛紛發表聲明緬懷。歐巴馬總統和第一夫人蜜雪兒向南西的子女和孫子女致哀，推崇南西「重新界定了她那個時代白宮女主人的角色」，是「值得驕傲的典範」。
南西1940～50年代闖蕩好萊塢期間認識雷根，1952年嫁給雷根，成為他第2任妻子。雷根後來演而優則仕，當選加州州長，南西成為州長夫人。1980年雷根代表共和黨出馬角逐白宮寶座，大勝卡特當選總統，南西跟著搬進白宮，成為第一夫人。
南西在第一夫人任內，最為人稱道的是力推反毒運動，協助孩童以及青少年遠離毒品。但她偏好華服、花大錢重新裝潢白宮等高調作風，也被女性主義陣營譏為膚淺。此外，她強勢干預白宮人事，讓她被冠上「龍夫人」頭銜。
相伴雷根 逾半世紀
南西是雷根最堅強的後盾與拍檔。1981年雷根當選總統沒多久就遭槍擊，她第一時間趕到他身邊，噙淚對著鏡頭呼籲民眾為他集氣代禱。
雷根1994年被確診罹患阿茲海默氏症，她不離不棄陪伴在側近10年。期間不惜與共和黨決裂也要支持幹細胞研究，替許多為此病所苦的病患發聲募款。
南西和雷根最為人津津樂道的是52年的相知相伴。她崇拜地聽他演說，他則寫了一輩子愛的字條給她，她後來將這些字條出書，並以之為慰藉，伴她走過他已不識她的最後幾年。
作風強勢 插手人事
南西也是美國歷來最具影響力的第一夫人之一。1987年，美軍售伊朗援助尼加拉瓜游擊隊的醜聞曝光後，南西勸雷根應接受公評，以示負責，成功挽回他下滑的聲望。
她也建議雷根應與前蘇聯領導人戈巴契夫接觸，建立私人關係，緩和美蘇的緊張關係。
在人事上，南西曾經與擔任白宮幕僚長的黎根不合，並說服雷根開除他，後來心生不滿的黎根出書揭露南西著迷占星術，決定雷根的行程與活動，引起輿論譁然。
南西將長眠在加州洛杉磯西北方的雷根圖書館庭院，與摯愛的丈夫團聚相伴。許多民眾特地前往圖書館，在門口留下鮮花與卡片表達悼念，圖書館也將降半旗致哀。
